The Crusader Senior Drum and Bugle Corps has been in
existence since 1991.
With over 55 years of pride and tradition to preserve,
and to renew old friendships, as well as creating new ones, former members of
the Boston Crusaders decided to extend the "Crusader Family" and form
a senior corps.
In 1991, that dream became a reality as brothers and
Crusader alumni, Neil and Terry Connolly, organized the "Saders".
Another Crusader alumni and drummer, the late Paul Bush, helped get things off
to a strong start as the percussion instructor.
As the organization continued to grow, 1992 saw many
changes, including a closer alliance with the "Boston Crusaders.
Under new management and the musical guidance of the late Ed Denon, this
organization returned to its musical roots.
1992 saw the emergence of the "Crusader Senior
Drum & Bugle Corps" and the resurgence of the "Crusader
Style" that so many loved. While maintaining the type of music that
had made the Crusader name a formidable one in drum corps history, we continue
to increase our already extensive repertoire. It has long been the goal of
this drum corps to blend new and innovative arrangements with the tunes of
yesteryear such as "When a Man Loves a Woman", El Capitan",
"Mondo Cane", and the ever popular "Conquest". Over
the years the "Crusader Senior Corps" has traveled the United States
performing in parades and drum and bugle corps shows.
