Happy July Everyone!!  We have had a great season so far.  I know I speak for everyone in the Corps when I say
I wish to thank Rick Connor and Linda, Bill and Jeanne Finnigan, and Ann and Jim Hughes for their hospitality and
warmth and delicious food at their respective cookouts.  Our reputation for being “the corps that never missed
a meal” is intact.

We are having a rehearsal this Sunday, July 20th, at the Malden Catholic Field on Crystal Street from 11a-2:30p.
This is very important as it is the last one before our Lawrence shows.  If you cannot make it please let Jack or
your instructor/section captain know where you’re at.  The weather is supposed to be VERY HOT!  So please dress
accordingly; hats, sunglasses, cool clothing.  And since I left part of my arm on the Mass. General cutting room floor,
maybe some sunscreen.  (just a personal suggestion)

Jack is working with the powers-that-be at Malden Catholic for two dates in August to have the field to
ready ourselves for Rochester .  Jack or I will let you know those dates as soon as he hears from them.

 CRUSADER FLASHBACK

Last but not least, we have another anecdote from the memory banks of Art Kellerman.  He writes:

One of the more humorous episodes that I can recall in the honorable history of our Corps was the time I witnessed Max, with a great
deal of effort and trepidation, get into Dianne’s pants.  Now, lest one get the wrong impression, let me explain.

We were getting dressed, prior to an indoor show in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania .  I was sharing a room with Max, and I was caught slightly
by surprise when I heard him uttering a battery of curse words as he was putting on his uniform.  It was rare for Max to lose his temper,
and it seemed out of character for him.  At this time Dianne was in the Light Brigade and they wore black tuxedo pants, just as we did.
Max had grabbed the wrong pair of pants to put in his suitcase.  He had no other choice than to “make them fit.”  Somehow, he got them on,
and rumor has it he had no trouble hitting the high notes that night.  Also, one might say he got into the record books wearing a uniform
that was one-half Crusader and one-half Light Brigade.

Finally

For everyone to know our routine for 2008 after discussing it with our instructors goes as follows:

Giant (as a warm-up)
El Capitian
drum solo into I Walk with God
Ole
Masquerade
drum solo
into California Dreaming into Conquest (with a few little things to be added)

So that is our routine for 2008, go over all your music. It takes all of us to work together to have
fun and be the best we can be. It is up to all of us. What we put into it, is what we will get out of it.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Your fearless leader.  Jack
